When procurement personnel receive a heat transfer oil heating requirement, they often encounter a specific problem: the site is an explosive gas environment, ordinary electric heaters cannot be used, and the process requires stable outlet oil temperature and controllable heat exchange efficiency. In this case, a heat transfer oil electric heater with an explosion-proof structure must be selected. The BGY15 explosion-proof electric heater (reference model BGY4-380/15) belongs to this category of equipment, with a rated voltage of 380V and a power of 15kW, suitable for chemical, petroleum, natural gas, ship, mining and other locations where explosive gases or vapors exist.

Scheme verification should start with the medium and heat exchange method. The equipment is designed based on fluid thermodynamics principles: low-temperature heat transfer oil enters the inlet under pressure, flows along specific heat exchange channels inside the electric heating vessel, takes away the heat generated by the electric heating elements, raises the medium temperature, and obtains the high-temperature heat transfer oil required by the process at the outlet. During procurement, it is necessary to confirm the medium composition, inlet and outlet temperatures, design pressure and flow rate, which are the basic inputs for calculating the matching of the flow channels.

The explosion-proof grade and temperature group also need to be checked. It should be confirmed that the equipment's explosion-proof marking corresponds to the on-site explosive gas category and temperature group, ensuring that the maximum surface temperature of the equipment is lower than the ignition temperature of the medium. In addition, the material of the electric heating elements, the sealing structure of the vessel and the flow rate of the heat transfer oil also affect long-term operation stability. For equipment such as BGY15 with a power level of 15kW, procurement personnel should combine heat load calculations with on-site explosion-proof area classification and provide complete working condition parameters to the manufacturer, so as to complete the matching selection of heat exchange flow channels and explosion-proof structure.
